                                                                   Third of May 1808

This painting created by Francisco Goya shows and high lights the horrors of the war. This centers on the masses of a group of men being executed in the early hours of the morning. In  the painting the officers grab young boys and men rounded them up and began to shoot them one by one.The event was normal at this point in time and the artist's main point was to bring the horrible reality to the public's eye and make them see how horrific something such as this truly is. It was used as a call for the people to revolt against their government and take a call to action.
